The Qstar 8 GIS data collector comes with the outstanding features of other product for high accuracy GIS data collection. Designed in light weight and dual-frequency, this product is quite convenient for the applications in power line inspection, land & resource management, forestry, agriculture, piping, underground cabling, as well as waste water management due to its capability of collecting data with high accuracy.

Product Features
1. The Qstar 8 GIS data collector is manufactured according to IP67 standard. Therefore, it is quite durable even used under tough environmental conditions.
2. The real time measured value can be accurate to centimeter.
3. Besides the OS Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 configured, this product is also equipped with 3G communication module.
4. With the outstanding GPS & GLONASS performance, this product can be conveniently used for surveying and GIS.
5. Equipped with both internal antenna and the external antenna, Qstar 8 GIS data collector has the stable positioning ability even used under tree, near the buildings or under other harsh conditions.
6. Customized data output stream combination is available because of the standard NMEA-0183 data output adopted. Additionally, this product is full compatible with the software of the third party currently exited in the market.

Performance
There are 120 channels designed for this Qstar 8 GIS data collector. Besides proven NovAtel GNSS technology, this product is also produced with special technology to reduce the effect on surveying caused by multipath. Moreover, the auxiliary strobe signals are also available with this machine, including a configurable output for time synchronization and mark inputs.

Positioning Performance
Only 30s is needed for the first fix. The update rate is 1Hz. The higher frequency is also supported. The distance for the single point positioning is 2m. Configured with professional Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the processor frequency of Qstar 8 GIS data collector is 806MHz.

Optional Software
The software available for Qstar 8 GIS data collector includes GIS software, DIGITERRA EXPLORER7, Carlson SurvCE, Arcpad10, etc. While selecting the software, please kindly note the following reminding.

1. Since the precision and the reliability of the product may be affected by the multipath, obstructions, satellite geometry and atmospheric conditions, the specifications recommended is for the applications in the open air without any obstructions, EMI and multipath and with optimal GNSS satellite constellation. Moreover, the surveying is performed with the method for advanced metering. For example, to achieve the accurate data, for the baselines longer than 30km, the precise ephemeris and 24 hours surveying are required.
2. The parameter listed is obtained by utilizing GPS and is subject to SBAS system. The WAAS differential positioning accuracy is less than 5 m 3DRMS.
